I could deal with their vastly different cultures because I had to. As a teen in the 80s we used to fight the wog gangs but things are OK between us now. My experiences with many Asian people in Australia is that a large proportion had a Western connection, such as being anti-Communist exiled Vietnamese, Hong Kongers, and more recently Chinese Malasians and Singaporeans. These cohorts are not wholly foreign since they share the same British imperial lineage as connects us with Maoris and PNGers/Islanders.
